What it is
The DELF is an internationally recognized diploma in French as a second language. It's valid for life and tested at levels A1, A2, B1 and B2.
Alliance Française de Vancouver lists a DELF Prim version for ages 8 to 11 and a DELF Junior version for ages 12 to 17. Each exam tests listening, reading, writing and speaking, worth 25 points each. A pass needs 50 out of 100, with at least 5 in each skill.
For 2026–27, the Alliance has posted dates only for the adult (Tout Public) exam: November 2026, March 2027 and June 2027 sessions at 6161 Cambie Street. Kids' session dates had not been posted when we checked.
A good fit if: French immersion and core French students who want an official certificate of their level.
