What it is

Math Circles is an enrichment program run by UBC math faculty and PIMS. It aims to show students how much fun math can be and how it's used in the real world.

Sessions are for students in Grades 5 to 7. Each session is different and stands alone, so children can come to one or many.

In 2025–26, sessions ran on Monday afternoons from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. in the Swing Building at UBC, in a fall–winter series (November–December) and a spring series (January–April).

Parents are welcome and encouraged to stay.

A good fit if: Curious Grade 5–7 students in Vancouver who enjoy puzzles and want to meet other kids who like math.
