What it is

The Canada Jay Mathematical Competition (formerly the Gray Jay) is run by the Canadian Mathematical Society for students in Grade 8 and below.

It has 15 multiple-choice questions in three blocks that get harder, written in 90 minutes. Problems are based on the Grade 5–8 curriculum.

Awards are given by region and grade, including a division for Grade 4 and under.

A good fit if: Upper elementary and middle school students ready for a step up from Math Kangaroo.
